ÖNORM S 4708

The present Austrian Standard shall be applied jointly with ÖNORM EN 12346 „Gymnastic equipment – Wall bars, lattice ladders and climbing frames – Safety requirements and test methods“. Exceeding the technical safety requirements for lattice ladders specified in ÖNORM EN 12346, this ÖNORM defines additional requirements relating to the construction and design of lattice ladders. As concerns the characteristics and design features of lattice ladders which are not dealt with by this ÖNORM, ÖNORM EN 12346 shall be applied. NOTE: Committee 184 declares explicitly that the present ÖNORM S 4708 does not conflict with ÖNORM EN 12346. It rather serves as its complement, especially for the proper specification of a certain type of lattice ladders within the admissible range of design variants according to ÖNORM EN 12346. This kind of approach facilitates the identifiability of this type of lattice ladder within tendering procedures and is intended to avoid misunderstandings between con-tracting parties concerning the detailed design of the device, without requiring comprehensive additional specifications.
