This ÖNORM is part of the series ÖNORM S 2027 "stability parameters for the assessment of waste from mechanical-biological treatment". The studies under this ÖNORM series are for the assessment of the biological reactivity as one of the parameters for the assessment of the deposition ability of mechanically-biologically treated waste thereof. Furthermore, this ÖNORM can be to assess progress during the composting of mechanical-biological treatment of waste applied. This part 4 of this series of standards describes the process of determining the respiratory activity over four days in the laboratory. The respiratory activity over different periods, eg 7 days, can be determined similarly to this ÖNORM by appropriate extension of the evaluation period.
