In dieser ÖNORM werden jene Randbedingungen zusammengestellt, die für die Festlegung von Emissionsbegrenzungen für emittierende Anlagen zusätzlich zum Grenzwert selbst sowie zur Beurteilung von Grenzwertüberschreitungen benötigt werden. Die zu verwendenden Begriffe werden definiert, die Möglichkeiten für die Festlegung von Emissionsgrenzwerten aufgezählt. Diese ÖNORM ist nur in Zusammenhang mit einer ÖNORM aus der Reihe der ÖNORMEN des Nummernbereiches M 9400 bis M9489 anzuwenden. Was im Sinne der einzelnen ÖNORMEN unter "Anlage" zu verstehen ist, ist in der jeweiligen ÖNORM festgelegt.
