Die Anforderungen dieser ÖNORM gelten für automatische Probenentnahmegeräte, die stationär oder mobil über einen bestimmten Zeitraum für die Beprobung von Wässern und Abwässern in offenen und geschlossenen Kanalsystemen, für die Zu- und Ablaufbeprobung von kommunalen oder betrieblichen Abwässern sowie zur Überwachung von Fließgewässern, Brunnen oder Quellen eingesetzt werden. Die Anforderungen beziehen sich auf technische Spezifikationen der Geräte und beschreiben den Stand der Technik für automatische Probenentnahmegeräte, welche nach dem Vakuumprinzip oder mit Schlauchquetschpumpen arbeiten. An Hand dieser technischen Spezifikationen erfolgt die Prüfung der Normkonformität von Probenentnahmegeräten.
