Die Norm ist für rechteckige Lüftungskanäle und Formstücke aus Stahlblech anzuwenden. Die Kanäle sind in gefalzter Ausführung zu erstellen und dienen zur Förderung von Luft, die frei von aggressiven Dämpfen und verschleißfördernden Stoffen ist. Die Norm beschreibt die Anforderungen an Toleranzen und Luftdichtheit und gibt Nenndurchmesser an. In zahlreichen Bildern werden die einzelnen Formstücke und deren Steckverbindungen samt Mindestwanddicken dargestellt. Die Erfassung des Ausmaßes von Rohren wird beschrieben.
