This Austrian Standard is applicable to the planning, execution and operation of ventilation and air conditioning systems for garages where for spark ignition motor vehicles with or without catalyst as well as compression ignition (diesel) motor vehicles are operated. As garages are understood spaces intended to shelter automobiles. This ÖNORM does not apply to rooms within garages intended for other purposes, such as working rooms, storage rooms, etc. This ÖNORM can be applied analogously for the operation of motor vehicles run with gas (natural gas, LPG) as well as for the operation and the charging of electrically driven automobiles, provided their pollutant emissions as well as particular safety requirements are taken into account.
