This ÖNORM contains requirements for materials, design and condition of rescue harness for fire-brigade employment as well as provisions for their testing and marking. Fire brigade harnesses conforming to this ÖNORM are used by the fire brigades as a fall arrest and restraint harness, as a rescue harness, for roping and abseiling of persons, as well as for use in air service. In addition to the requirements of ÖNORM EN 361, a rescue harness for fire-brigade has to fulfill the requirements of ÖNORM EN 358 and ÖNORM EN 813 as well as ÖNORM EN 1497.
