Die vorliegende Vornorm ist für feuerfeste Werkstoffe aus der Gruppe der Alumosilicate anwendbar. Sie ist für die Bestimmung der folgenden Bestandteile innerhalb des angegebenen Masseanteil-Bereiches vorgesehen: SiO2: 40 % bis 93 %; Al2O3: 1 % bis 60 %; Fe2O3: 0 % bis 10 %; TiO2, CaO, MgO, K2O, Na2O: 0,01 % bis 5 %. Anmerkung 1: Obwohl Masseanteile an Fe2O3 von mehr als 5 % bei feuerfesten Erzeugnissen sehr selten vorkommen, erstreckt sich der Anwendungsbereich dieser Vornorm bis auf einen Masseanteil von 10 % Fe2O3. Anmerkung 2: K und Na werden bei der FAAS in Emission bestimmt. Anmerkung 3: Bei Al2O3- und SiO2-Masseanteilen von mehr als 10 % wird der Einsatz von ICP-, RFA- oder gravimetrischen Verfahren empfohlen.
