Diese Norm beschreibt zwei Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Hexamethylentetramin- ("Hexa"-) Gehaltes von Phenolharzen. Die beiden Verfahren sind gleichwertig. Das in Abschnitt 2 beschriebene Kjeldahl-Verfahren ist nicht anwendbar, wenn im Phenolharz andere Stickstoff enthaltene Bestandteile vorhanden sind. Das in Abschnitt 3 beschriebene Perchlorsäure-Verfahren ist nur dann anwendbar, wenn im Harz keine weiteren basischen oder sauren Zusätze enthalten sind.
