Die vorliegende Norm legt ein System für Toleranzgrade und Grade für erforderliche Bearbeitungszugaben für die Maße von Gußstücken fest. Sie ist für die Maße von nach verschiedenen Fertigungsverfahren hergestellten Gußstücken aus metallischen Werkstoffen und deren Legierungen anwendbar (aber beachte auch Einleitung g) und Abschnitt 5). Diese Norm gilt sowohl für auf der Zeichnung angegebenen Allgemeintoleranzen und/oder erforderliche Bearbeitungszugaben als auch für individuelle anzugebende Toleranzen und/oder erforderliche Bearbeitungszugaben welche direkt nach einem bestimmten Maß angegeben werden (siehe Abschnitt 11). Das festgelegte System gilt dann, wenn die Gießerei das Modell oder das Druckgießwerkzeug bereitstellt oder die Verantwortung für deren Überprüfung übernimmt.
