Diese ÖNORM EN beschreibt ein Verfahren zur Untersuchung der Widerstandsfähigkeit eines Geotextils gegen das Eindringen eines Stahlkegels, der aus einer bestimmten Höhe fallengelassen wird. Der Grad des Eindringens ist ein Hinweis auf die Beschädigung, wie sie beim Beschütten der Geotextiloberfläche mit scharfkantigen Steinen auftritt. Das Verfahren ist bei Geweben und Vliesstoffen anwendbar. Die Aussagekraft dieser Prüfung für bestimmte Arten von Geotextilien und verwandten Produkten (zB. Geogitter) erfordert eine genauere Betrachtung im Einzelfall, da das Grundprinzip dieser Prüfung für manche Materialien nicht anwendbar ist.
