In dieser ÖNORM werden Abscheideranlagen für Leichtflüssigkeiten mit einer Dichte bis zu 0,95 g/cm3, (zB Erdöl, Dieselkraftstoffe, Heizöl, Benzin) behandelt. Sie ist vornehmlich für Anlagen gewerblicher Betriebe vorgesehen. Abscheideranlagen werden grundsätzlich nach Nenngrößen (gerundete Zahl, entspricht annähernd dem Zahlenwert des max. zulässigen Abwasserdurchflusses/l/ Sekunde) und Reinigungsklassen (orientiert an dem max. zulässigen Restölgehalt im Ablauf des gereinigten Abwassers) eingeteilt, wobei einem Restölgehalt von max. 0 mg/l und Reinigungsklasse II einem max. zulässigen Gehalt von 100 mg/l entspricht. Weiters wird auf die Baugrundsätze und die Leistungsanforderungen an Abscheideranlagen sowie auf Kennzeichnung, Prüfung und Güteüberwachung solcher Anlagen eingegangen. In vier normativen Anhängen werden generelle Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren - für Beschichtungen und Auskleidungen, - für Heizöl Extra-leicht, - für Analysen der Abwasserproben und - Brandverhalten der Abscheideranlagen behandelt. Ein informativer Anhang beinhaltet Musterschemata für die Güteüberwachung.
