Falldämpfer sind Bestandteile von persönlichen Schutzausrüstungen gegen Absturz. Diese Teile haben die Aufgabe, die kinetische Energie von Personen während des Absturzes aufzuzehren. Dabei darf bis zum Stillstand nach dem Fall der Auszug der Falldämpfer das zweifache der ursprünglichen Länge ihrer Aufhängung nicht überschreiten. Behandelt sind Anforderungen, statische und dynamische Prüfverfahren, Verwendungshinweise, Kennzeichnung und Verpackung.
