Diese Europäische Norm legt Regeln zur Bemessung, Typprüfung, Herstellung und Inspektionskontrolle tragbarer Feuerlöscher mit Metallgehäusen fest, soweit die Gefährdung durch Druck betrachtet wird. Der vorliegende Teil gilt für tragbare Feuerlöscher, bei denen der zulässige Höchstdruck PS kleiner als oder gleich 30 bar ist, und die nicht explosive, nicht entzündbare, nicht toxische und nicht oxydierende Flüssigkeiten enthalten. Diese Europäische Norm gilt auch für Gasbehälter aus Metall mit einem Volumen kleiner 0,12 l, siehe Anhang E und sie enthält eine Anleitung zur Herstellung von Gasbehältern aus Metall gleich oder größer 0,12 l und kleiner als 0,5 l entsprechend guter Ingenieurspraxis, siehe Anhang F. Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Kohlendioxid-Feuerlöscher.
