Behandelt sind autonome Leichttauchgeräte mit Druckluft sowie die nachfolgend angegebenen Baugruppen, aus denen ein Leichttauchgerät bestehen muß: Druckluft-Flasche(n) mit Flaschenventil(en), Atemregler, Sicherheitseinrichtung, Atemanschluß: Mundstückgarnitur, Vollmaske oder Tauchhelm, Tragesystem. Der Zweck der in dieser EN festgelegten Anforderungen und Prüfungen ist, ein Mindestmaß an Sicherheit für den Einsatz der Geräte bis zu einer maximalen Tiefe von 50 m sicherzustellen. Laborprüfungen und praktische Leistungsprüfungen sind enthalten, um die Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen feststellen zu können.
