Festgelegt ist eine Einteilung mit Verfahrenskennzahlen für Schweiß-, Hartlöt-, Weichlöt- und Fugenlötverfahren. Jedes Verfahren ist durch eine Kennzahl bestimmt. Diese Kennzahl ist auch für die zeichnerische Darstellung von Schweißnähtenin Zeichnungen zu benutzen. Diese Norm ergänzt ISO 2553. De-finitionen für Schweiß-, Hartlöt- und Weichlötverfahren sindin ÖNORM ISO 857 festgelegt. Andere Ordnungskriterien, z.B. die Einteilung nach Schmelz- schweißverfahren und Preßschweißverfahren, wurden nicht ein-geführt.
