Für wiederbefüllbare, ortsbewegliche, nahtlose Gasflaschen aus Aluminium mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 0,5 Liter bis einschließlich 150 Liter ist die Gestaltung und Konstruktion festgelegt. Bestimmungen über die zugelassenen Werkstoffe sowie über deren Wärmebehandlung sind enthalten. Für die Gestaltung sind die notwendigen Berechnungsformeln und Ausführungsbestimmungen angegeben. Die verschiedenen Arten der Werkstoffprüfungen werden behandelt. In einem informativen Anhang ist das Verfahren für die Bauartzulassung beschrieben. Die Bewertung von Herstellungsfehlern und die Bedingungen für die Zurückweisung zum Zeitpunkt der Sichtprüfung beim Hersteller sind in einem normativen Anhang festgelegt.
