Die Anforderungen für wiederkehrende Prüfungen und Prüfungen zur Feststellung der Eignung von Gasflaschen aus Stahl mit einem Fassungsvermögen von 0,5 Liter bis einschließlich 150 Liter sind festgelegt. Es sind die einzelnen Verfahren der wiederkehrenden Prüfungen, die Zeitabstände zwischen den Prüfungen und die empfohlene Farbkennzeichnung für die Prüfringe festgehalten. Die äußere und die innere Sichtprüfung sind beschrieben. Die hydraulische Druckprüfung sowie eine alternative Prüfung mittels Ultraschall wird festgelegt. Kriterien für die Zurückweisung und die Durchführung der Außerbetriebnahme sind behandelt. Eine Auflistung von korrosiven Gasen ist in Anhang A und die Beschreibung der Defekte ist in Anhang B enthalten. Hinweise auf Verfahren bei Blockierung des Ventils der Gasflasche sowie deren Wartung sind ebenfalls angegeben.
