Behandelt werden Mindestanforderungen an Druckluft-Schlauch-geräte für leichte Einsätze mit Helm oder Haube, die für den Einsatz in Atmosphären vorgesehen sind, die durch Gase, Partikeln oder beides verunreinigt sind. Derartige Ausrüstung ist für den Einsatz bei geringer oder mäßiger Arbeit und an Arbeitsplätzen voregesehen, bei denen die Gefahr einer Beschädigung des Druckluft-Zuführungsschlauches gering ist. Flucht- und Tauchgeräte sowie Geräte,die bei Strahlarbeiten eingesetzt werden, sind nicht Gegenstand dieser Norm. Enthalten sind Laborprüfungen und praktische Leistungsprüfungen, um die Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen feststellen zu können.
