Dieser Teil der EN 12516 legt das Berechnungsverfahren für drucktragende Gehäuse von Armaturen aus anderen metallischen Werkstoffen als Stahl fest. Sind die in den folgenden Tabellen festgelegten Werkstoffe nicht verfügbar, dürfen andere geeignete Werkstoffe verwendet werden, wenn die technische Dokumentation mit den Angaben über die Werkstoffeigenschaften entsprechend den Anforderungen für die Europäische Werkstoffzulassung (EAM) oder für Werkstoff-Einzelgutachten (PMA) anerkannt wurde. Falls in harmonisierten Werkstoffnormen keine mechanischen Werte für Auslegungsbedingungen enthalten sind, müssen spezielle Werkstoffprüfungen nach der Druckgeräterichtlinie 97/23/EG (DGRL) durch die benannte Stelle erfolgen.
