This Austrian standard specifies a procedure for emergency decontamination of individuals affected by a CBRN incident. Definitions of required terms are provided. Guidelines for immediate response measures to be provided by the emergency responders first on scene (before the arrival of specialised relief units or equipment) are established for use. This Austrian standard is part of an inter-organisational concept to ensure a seamless care for affected persons while building on existing regulations, in particular the fire-fighter strategies against hazardous materials and the rescue service guidelines for patient care.
