This Austrian Standard applies to all chimneys where different design systems are used (e.g. prolongation of a masonry chimney by a single or multiple wall chimney). It gives instructions for planning, reahbilitation and design of such chimneys). This ÖNORM is not applicable if within an existing building a new chimney is installed in a certain floor, e.g. in the course of an attic conversion. The present ÖNORM shall not be applied in the sense of ÖNORM B 8271 which deals with the cross section adaptation. The legal provisons valid for the respective region or province have to be respected.
