Diese ÖNORM legt das Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Wärmeleitfähigkeit mit dem Plattengerät fest, sofern nicht in Produktnormen andere Messnormen zitiert sind. Für die Ermittlung der baustoffspezifischen Wärmeleitfähigkeit ist die ÖNORM B 6015-2, für die Ermittlung des baustoffspezifischen Wärmedurchlasswiderstandes geschichteter Materialien die ÖNORM B 6015-3 maßgebend. Das Plattengerät ist geeignet für die Prüfung ebener plattenförmiger Proben aus: - weitgehend homogenen Materialien, - angenähert homogenen Materialien, z.B. porösen, faserigen oder körnigen Materialien, - normal zum Wärmestrom geschichteten Materialien (siehe 10.2). Für profilierte Platten ist das Verfahren jedoch nur dann geeignet, wenn die durch die Profilierung entstehenden Hohlräume auch bei der praktischen Anwendung abgedeckt oder ohne nennenswerten Einfluss auf den Messwert sind. Das Plattengerät ist nicht geeignet für inhomogene Proben, z.B. Mauerwerk. Die Anwendung des Prüfverfahrens ist im Allgemeinen auf Materialien mit einer Wärmeleitfähigkeit unter 2 W/(m.K) beschränkt.
