Die in der Norm behandelten Schlösser sind Einstemm- (Einsteck-)schlösser in den Ausführungen "Tosisches Einstemmschloß" und "Einstemmzylinderschloß". Die Norm sieht eine Fremdüberwachung aufgrund eines Überwachungsvertrages mit einer österreichischen staatlich autorisierten Prüfanstalt sowie die Kennzeichnung "ÖNORM B 5453 geprüft" vor.
