In ÖNORM B 4300-1 wird für die Berechnung des Stabilitätsfalles "Knicken von Stäben und Stabwerken" die Anwendung von DIN 18800 Teil 2 unter Einhaltung der in der vorliegenden ÖNORM festgelegten Bedingungen gefordert. DIN 18800 Teil 2 regelt die Berechnung des Widerstandes Rd, für die Berechnung der Beanspruchung Sd sind die ÖNORMEN B 4300-1, die vorliegende ÖNORM und DIN 18800 Teil 2 gemeinsam heranzuziehen. Im österreichischen Normenwerk für den Stahlbau sind die Nachweisverfahren "Elastisch-Plastisch" und "Plastisch-Plastisch" (Fließgelenktheorie) nicht enthalten, hiefür wird die Anwendung von DIN 18800 empfohlen, was eine Zugrundelegung der Teilsicherheitsbeiwerte aus DIN 18800 Teile 1 bis 3 erfordert.
