Diese ÖNORM legt auf Grund der speziellen geografischen, topografischen und klimatischen Verhältnisse, die in Österreich herrschen, ausgewählte Anforderungen entsprechend den Kategorien der ÖNORM EN 12620 fest und ist auch gemeinsam mit dieser anzuwenden. Die Europäische Norm ÖNORM EN 12620 legt die Eigenschaften von Gesteinskörnungen und Füllern (Gesteinsmehlen) fest, die durch Aufbereitung natürlicher, industriell hergestellter oder rezyklierter Materialien und Mischungen daraus für die Verwendung als Betonzuschlag gewonnen werden. Sie deckt Gesteinskörnungen mit einer Kornrohdichte nach Trocknung im Wärmeschrank über 2 000 kg/m³ für alle Betonarten ab, einschließlich Beton nach EN 206-1 und Beton zur Verwendung in Straßen und anderen Deckschichten und für die Verwendung in Betonfertigteilen.
