Installation of windows and doors

Installing windows is a building job that shouldn't be taken for granted and requires a high level of expertise on the part of everyone involved as well as cooperation across different trades. Clear rules and concrete requirements for planning and execution are therefore an important element of such projects.

Following the publication of ÖNORM B 5320:2024 and the dissemination of specific content at events and talks, including by Austrian Standards itself, questions regarding the standard's interpretation were repeatedly raised to the relevant standards committee (Working Group 011.03 "Wall flashing of windows and exterior doors" of Committee 011 "General building construction").

Working Group 011.03 and Austrian Standards decided to update the answers that had been agreed in Working Group 011.03 and make them publicly available again in the form of technical information bulletin 20.
