An updated version of ÖNORM A 6240-4 "Technische Zeichnungen für das Bauwesen - Teil 4: Digitale Dokumentation" (Technical drawings for building construction - Part 4: Digital documentation) was published on 1 May 2012. ÖNORM A 6240-4 regulates the technical implementation of the exchange and management of building information data for buildings and from related constructions for spatial partitioning in civil engineering that are required in the course of managing the life cycle of real estate.

ÖNORM A 6241-1 "Technische Zeichnungen für das Bauwesen - Teil 1: CAD-Datenstruktur und Building Information Modeling (BIM) - Level 2" (Technical drawings for civil engineering - Part 1: CAD data structure and building information modelling (BIM) - Level 2) was published on 1 July 2015 and replaces ÖNORM A 6240-4. This page provides supplements to ÖNORM A 6241-1.
