Diese Internationale Norm gilt für alle genormten Schleifkörper aus gebundenen Schleifmittel (Schleifscheiben, Schleifsegmente, Schleifstäbe und Abziehsteine) mit Ausnahme von Schleifkörpern mit Diamant oder Bornitrid. Sie enthält die Bezeichnung; Die Hauptform und Benennung von Schleifkörpern aus gebundenem Schleifmittel; die Standardprofile von geraden Schleifscheiben; den Bereich der Außendurchmesser; den Bereich der Breiten; den Bereich der Bohrungsdurchmesser; den Werkstoff; die Kennzeichnung. Diese Internationale Norm ist allgemein gehalten und wird durch ISO 603-1 bis ISO 603-16, ISO 6103 und ISO 13942 ergänzt.
