Diese ÖNORM ISO beschreibt zwei Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Abfalls der Gegenkraft, die von einem Probekörper aus vulkanisiertem oder thermoplastischem Kautschuk ausgeübt wird, der auf ein konstantes Maß komprimiert und in diesem Zustand bei vorgegebener Prüftemperatur gehalten wurde. Zwei Formen von Probekörpern sind zugelassen: Zylindrische Probekörper und Ringe. Unterschiedliche Formen und Größen der Probekörper liefern unterschiedliche Ergebnisse, und der Vergleich von Ergebnissen sollte auf Probekörper gleicher Größe und Form beschränkt bleiben.
