ÖNORM EN 1999-1-4

ÖNORM EN 1999-1-4 shall be applied in Austria jointly with National Annex ÖNORM B 1999-1-4 (in preparation). This ÖNORM gibes design requirements for cold-formed trapezoidal aluminium sheeting. It applies to cold-formed products made from thin gauge hot or cold rolled sheet or strip that have been cold-formed by such process as cold-rolled forming or press-breaking. The execution of aluminium stuctures made of cold-formed sheeting is covered in ÖNORM EN 1090-3. The rules in this part complement the rules in other parts of ÖNORM EN 1999-1. Methods are also given for stressed-skin design using aluminium sheeting as a structural diaphragm. This part does not apply to cold-formed aluminium profiles like C-, Z- etc profiles nor cold-formed and welded circular or rectangular hollow sections. ÖNORM EN 1999-1-4 gives methods for design by calculation and for design assisted by testing. The methods for the design of calculation apply only within stated ranges of material properties and geometrical properties for which sufficient experience and test evidence is available. These limitations do not apply to design by testing. ÖNORM EN 1999-1-4 does not cover load arrangement for testing for loads during execution and maintenance.
