Diese Norm enthält Angaben über Auswahl und Bestellung kontinuierlich organisch beschichteter Flacherzeugnisse aus Stahl und beschreibt die angemessenen technischen Anforderungen an die Erzeugnisse, z. B. an die Prüfverfahren, an die Grenzabmaße der Schichtdicke, das Aussehen sowie die Maß- und Formtoleranzen für die Erzeugnisse. Sie gilt für kaltgewalzte Flacherzeugnisse aus Stahl ohne metallischen Überzug oder mit metallischen Überzügen, die kontinuierlich (im "coil coating"-Verfahren) organisch beschichtet worden sind. Bei den erfaßten Erzeugnissen handelt es sich um Breitband mit Breiten bis 1850 mm, daraus abgelängtes Blech, längsgeteiltes Breitband, Band mit Walzbreiten unter 600 mm und Stäbe (aus Blech oder längsgeteiltem Band) mit einer Dicke des Grundwerkstoffes bis maximal 2 mm. Die Norm gilt nicht für kontinuierlich organisch beschichtetes - Verpackungsblech und -band (für Nahrungsmittel und Getränke), - Elektroblech und -band, - Stahlpackband.
