Dieser Teil von ISO 9902, zusammen mit ISO 9902-1, legt die Aufstellungs- und Befestigungsbedingungen, die Betriebszustände und Bedingungen für Messung, Angabe und Nachprüfung der Geräusche, die von Vliesstoffmaschinen abgestrahlt werden, fest. Er definiert Geräuschmessverfahren für:
- Querleger;
- Vliesstrecken;
- Vornadelmaschinen;
- Nadelmaschinen;
- Nähwirkmaschinen;
- Wasserstrahlverfestigungsmaschinen, und
- Sprühauftragsmaschinen.
Die anderen Maschinen für Vliesstoffanlagen werden in ISO 9902-2, ISO 9902-6 und ISO 9902-7 behandelt. Dieser Teil von ISO 9902 gilt für Verfahren der Genauigkeitsklasse 2 und der Genauigkeitsklasse 3 in Übereinstimmung mit den Internationalen Normen auf die in dieser Norm normativ verwiesen wird.
