Dieser Teil der ISO 9902 legt alle gemeinsamen Anforderungen für die Bestimmung, Angabe und Nachprüfung der grundlegenden Geräuschemissionskenngrößen der Gruppen von Textilmaschinen, die in ISO 9902-2 bis ISO 9902-7 behandelt werden, wirksam und unter genormten Bedingungen durchzuführen, fest. Er legt Geräuschmessverfahren, Aufstellungs- und Befestigungsbedingungen sowie Betriebszustände fest, die bei der Messung zu verwenden sind.
Dieser Teil von ISO 9902 ist anwendbar auf alle Maschinen, Anlagen und Einrichtungen, die für die in ISO 11111-1 bis ISO 11111-7 aufgeführten Prozesse eingesetzt werden, einschließlich der Einrichtungen für den automatischen Betrieb der Maschinen entweder als einzelne Maschinen oder als verkettete Anlagen, jedoch ohne Einrichtungen für den Transport zwischen den Schnittstellen der Maschinen.
